MY ROLE Directing User Experience Design at Upskill
During my tenure at Upskill, my main focus was leading or directly designing the development of the clients and platform components that enable developers to build custom applications across a variety of use cases. Platform feature development was a holistic exercise, involving planning and execution of features that seamlessly deploy, span, and run concurrently across different form factors with zero intervention by the application developer - Build one app, and it just works anywhere!
Core platform responsibilities included:
Developed iOS mobile and iPad clients
Developed Android mobile and tablet clients
Developed Smart Glasses client utilizing both gesture-based and voice-driven control methods
Developed a web-based managerial and administrative dashboard
Developed a web-based, low-code developer tool to build the applications
Building and maintaining the design library and requirement documentation that drives development
Additionally, the UX discipline at Upskill involves direct work with customers whose problem sets span wide-range of industries. During my time at Upskill, I led or directly conducted both customer research and solution design for use cases including:
Online grocery picking
Live video call streaming (including live photo capture and markup)
Inspection & compliance use cases
Warehouse logistics
Complex assembly & maintenance (including use of IoT connected devices)
Wire assembly & routing
And more…
I also worked in a marketing capacity, performing all product brand work including logo development, evergreen production, public website design, video production, and more.
Peter has the skills to coordinate, advise, and when necessary, direct a diverse team of designers and engineers to deliver a product with peerless ux and get the job done. - Jon Abulencia | Senior Software Engineer at Upskill
